What is the Spare on Site (SOS) service?

SOS is designed to streamline the repair and replacement process. Typically, when a device is removed from an operating environment and sent for repair one needs to consider transit time, repair time and approval time when considering how much operational time will be affected.

Moreover, not only does the IT department have to be involved, but so do several other departments, such as accounting, procurement, finance, etc. When considering this process each time a device goes down. this can become a cumbersome and unnecessary process to plan for, execute and review.

This SOS service eliminates these pain points by providing spare units on-site and consolidating the interdepartmental involvement to just one time each year.

How does it work?

The process is simple. Once the quote is approved there are three main steps where, at the end, you will always have a revolving spare unit on-site, completely eliminating downtime.

  • Receive a spare from Handprint Inc
  • When a device fails, replace it with the spare and ship the defective device to Handprint Inc.
  • Handprint Inc will repair the device and ship it back
